Help Videos -
TaxSlayer has added a very valuable tax tool to help guide you through the return process. "Bobby", "your personal tax guide" is a video that will provide tax guidance and explanation. Even though your personal Guide cannot provide tax advice (you should seek proper tax counsel should you need tax advice), "Bobby" can help to explain the question and provide valuable insight. Simply select the help video button next to the selected question or topic and "Bobby" will appear to help guide you.
Audit Slayer -
Audit Slayer will allow you to see which items entered on your return could potentially increase your chances of being audited. It will list what items increase this percentage while providing you with a description and steps or procedures the user should follow in providing the correct supporting material. The Audit Slayer also provides a Risk Bar that visually shows each user their risk increase with each item they enter in the return.
Form Finder -
The Form Finder will allow you to quickly search our program for every form we support. The Form Finder will be located at the top of the page under the "Nav Bar". You can either select the form from a list provided or type the form in the entry field to scroll directly to that form.
Create Prior Year Returns -
You will now have access to our 2008 program within the 2009 program. You will only be charged $7.95 if you are accessing an account already created in prior years. Please remember that you will still need to mail federal and state returns from prior years into the proper office for filing.
Data Present Page -
You will be taken to the Data Present page every time you edit your 2009 return after your initial entry. The Data Present page will notify you where in the program you have entered information. You can also navigate through the program by clicking on the form of your choice.
States - instructions, articles, federal relations -
TaxSlayer has remodeled its States section to help each and every customer. We have added individual instructions for every return of each state. There are also articles on each menu located in the tool bar that will provide the user with helpful information about every line.
Navigation Bar & Tools -
The Nav Bar will give you the ability to move to any part of the program. The Nav Bar is located across the top of the page and has a tab for every section in the program. Every tab will allow you to scroll down to each subsection located in that part of the program. This feature will allow you to navigate the program with ease.
My Account -
The My Account menu is the hub to your account. From here you can:
  • Prepare your prior year tax returns within our current program.
  • Learn more about TaxSlayer books and create an account to download the TaxSlayer books accounting software.
  • Check the status of your returns including prior years filed within the same account.
  • Set up your account for text notifications on your mobile phone.
  • Access your tax return.
  • Check any Message between yourself and TaxSlayer.
  • Edit your personal account and text messaging (optional) information.
  • And with many other helpful tools.
