A Form 1099-G is used to show payments that you received as income from government agencies (state, local, etc.). Types of income that a 1099-G will show include:
- Refunds from state tax returns filed in the previous year.
- Unemployment compensation from a state agency.
- Department of Agriculture payments that are taxable to you.
