I accidentally resubmitted my return, what happens to the first return I e-filed?

Our returns are e-filed returns in batches throughout the day.

If you accidentally resubmitted your return the newest return overrides the first return you e-filed if the return has not been transmitted.  This system is to prevent multiple returns from being transmitted to the IRS which results in an automatic rejection of your return.
