What options do I have for getting my refund?
Direct Deposit
This option allows you to file your federal and state returns electronically, and to have your refund directly deposited into your checking or savings account. This option usually takes 10-18 days to complete based on the IRS and state's refund cycles. This is a good choice for those with a checking or savings account. Having your refund directly deposited into your checking or savings account is also the fastest method to receive your federal and/or state refund.
Mailed Check
This option allows you to file your federal return and all state returns electronically. You will receive your federal and/or state refund as a mailed check. It usually takes 18-28 days to receive your refund in the mail. This is a good choice for those without a checking or savings account.
Bank RT (Refund Transfer) *No Out-of-Pocket Cost
This option allows you to file your federal return and state returns electronically, and to have your refunds directly deposited into your personal checking or savings account with NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. This option usually takes 10-18 days to complete. This option requires that you provide a valid phone number, email address and bank account information in your return. This is a good choice for those with a checking or savings account, and who do not want to pay any OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES. This option is the same as a Direct Deposit, except that a fee ($29.95 Refund Transfer Bank Fee + the cost of the TaxSlayer filing fee) is deducted from your Federal refund. To use this option you must be receiving a refund from your federal or state return to cover the expenses listed above.
Note: The $29.95 Refund Transfer Bank fee cannot be refunded by TaxSlayer. This fee is associated with the third party bank, University National Bank, and is not a fee charged by TaxSlayer.
