The third part of our blog series on the TaxSlayer company history continues today with insights into our professional sports sponsorships and charitable support. Both are valued parts of our company that contribute to who we are, the work we do and how we support our local community. As a family-owned company, we understand the importance of giving back!
Now, let’s talk sports.
Professional sports sponsorships have allowed TaxSlayer to engage with its customers throughout the year. In 2009, TaxSlayer began partnering with NASCAR and sponsored its first driver. The affiliation grew in 2011 when the company partnered with the JR Motorsports team and sponsored its racing-star owner, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Recently, we extended our partnership with JR Motorsports and added Hendrick Motorsports to the team! Read this if you want to know more.
TaxSlayer also has other sponsorships with popular American sports. In 2012, college football’s Gator Bowl was renamed the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl. Three years later, the company earned exclusive naming rights to the TaxSlayer Bowl for six years. Lastly, TaxSlayer sponsors PGA Tour golfers Patrick Reed and Kevin Kisner.
It’s good to have fun in the sports world, but TaxSlayer keeps its focus on charitable support too.
TaxSlayer’s family-centered values drive it to strengthen the community, provide others an opportunity for success and help organizations that work to improve an individual’s confidence and self-sufficiency. In 2004, TaxSlayer created the Guardian Cup charity golf tournament benefitting SafeHomes of Augusta, a domestic violence center. The company has pledged $1 million to build a new facility for the organization. TaxSlayer also supports the Dale Jr. Foundation, Press On Fund to Cure Childhood Cancer, Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care, Kelley Brothers and Friends and other causes.
The 2015 Guardian Cup is Monday, Oct. 5. Visit the Guardian Cup website to find out more about the history, sponsors and the amazing work that SafeHomes does everyday to help victims of domestic violence.
