Due to an IRS error, some TaxSlayer customers have not received their second stimulus payment as expected. We are working with the IRS and our industry partners to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and will continue to update this article as more information becomes available. The most recent IRS guidance was provided on January 10, 2020. Here is what we know so far:
How do I know if my second stimulus payment was affected by the IRS error?
TaxSlayer customers who did not receive stimulus payments due to this specific IRS error have received an email from TaxSlayer.
If you think you were affected but did not receive an email
- Make sure that the email address is the one you used to create your TaxSlayer account
- Check your spam/junk folder

How will I get my second stimulus payment?
The IRS will send your second stimulus check the same way you received the first payment and/or your tax refund in 2020. If the account information you provided on your most recent tax return is up to date, you should expect to receive your second stimulus by direct deposit.
What if I changed bank accounts?
If your bank account information changed since you received the first stimulus payment, the IRS encourages you to file your 2020 tax return as quickly as possible and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit for the amount you are due.

When will I get my second payment?
Most people impacted by this specific error have received their stimulus checks by now, but for a certain number of affected taxpayers, the IRS is still in the process of sending payments.
In a recent statement, they confirmed that they will be reissuing these checks either as a paper check or as a direct deposit. In this case, you can expect to see the payment arrive directly from the IRS later this month (the exact timing has not been provided yet). Please note that TaxSlayer does not have your funds.
