What are the full qualifications for the Residential Energy Credit?
The nonbusiness energy property credit has been extended through December 31, 2016.
You may be able to take this credit if you made qualified energy saving improvements to your home located in the United States in 2015.
The credit can be as much as 30% of your costs of qualified solar electric property, solar water heating property, fuel cell property, small wind energy property, and geothermal heat pump property. The credit for costs paid is limited to $500 for each one-half kilowatt of capacity of the property.
